Shared Decision Making SDM

Shared Decision Making

There are still positions available at all schools for team members.

SDM is a process in which a team of parents, teachers, staff and administrators participate in school district decision-making to improve the educational performance of all students.
The term is for two years, and normally meets once per month.
The purpose of school-based planning and shared decision making shall be to improve the educational performance of all students in the school, regardless of such factors as socioeconomic status, race, sex, language background, or disability.
If you would like to be considered for a position on the team please send an anonymous letter to the PTA describing why you would be a good addition to the team. Please include your contact information.
The following amendments were recently made to the Shared Decision Plan:

  1. Include a statement that the building based teams must consider the benefits/needs/impact of all decisions/activities on the following sub-accountability groups:
         A. All Students
         B. Students with Disabilities
         C. Ethnicity Groups
         D. Free & Reduced Lunch Population (Poverty)
         E. English Language Learners
         F. Gifted and Talented
   2. Length of time and date of meetings will remain the discretion of individual school teams but it was suggested one-hour would be the minimum.  SDMT are able to meet more than that if the agenda requires it.
   3. Reporting of SDMT activities will be implemented as per the plan
   4. Articulate the District Goals on page 7
         A. Increase Student Achievement
         B. Integrate Technology
         C. Increase Communication
         D. Going Green
